    This has been a common issue for us since the beginning of the OrangeBox SDK - it seems to happen more so on ATI video cards.

    You can help this issue by using the following console commands after the map loads:

    - status : to obtain the current level name (or you can simply check the scoreboard)
    - changelevel <mapName>

    Just re-load the map basically. The second load usually works fine.

    Let me know if you have any more trouble with it.

    So 'Half-Life 2: Episode 1' and EP2 in the 'Game Mount' menu (in-game) are 'YES' in the list?

    If so, once you set them to 'Yes' - you need to restart Synergy. The content loads after a restart.

    You most likely need to have an .inc file for syn_pyro. Can I ask where you got syn_pyro from? As it may be missing some files.
