An Idea For A Weapon

I was reading though some topics and Visorak06's avatar game me an idea, why doesn't someone mod the rocket propelled chainsaw gun into the game.



It could be one of the key "selling" points to the game, imagine

Its really good
I don't really feel like downloading a mod today
Come on man, the game has a gun that SHOOTS FUCKING CHAINSAWS

This is usually the point where I say to make it yourself, but both the page on creating custom weapons in the docs and the custom weapons feature itself have been removed. Besides, we have a rocket launcher.

I'm thinking that it wouldn't have splash damage and could go though multiple enimies, so it would not play like the rocket launcher.

No splash damage = no explosion. It's just a crossbow.

It doesn't go through enemies though, it sticks in them. It would also do more damage.

I've fired into lines of enemies with the crossbow. It'd kill about six of them each time.

I think the rebels' arsenal would be a few degrees unconventional due to their lack of resources, but there's a fine line between unconventional and just plain impractical.

My feeling about addiional weapons comes down like this (I know this was a joke suggestion and all, but nvm):
Synergy as it is shouldn't include additional weapons, with the exception of the heal kits and maybe flares (just because flares are cool and allow a sort of team-based lighting). However, it would be a great idea to include a way for mappers to implement custom weapons. That way, most of the while you get actual HL2 gameplay - what I came to synergy for. But if it suits a particular scenario, then the scenario designer can include modifications like additional weapons, changes to health/mobs/custom NPCs etc.

Why not include them? Its not like the hl2 campaign includes them, or mappers are forced to use them.
