Yeah I tried downloading the custom model from this site, but everytime I try to switch to the gordon model it says you will change after respawn, and then after I respawn it just turns me into a random rebel. My suggestion is that you add the gordon model to the official release, and set it so the admin/host/top player of a sever plays as Gordon and everyone else is a rebel. It would make more sense that way, instead of just a bunch of rebels.

That was for Synergy 1.1.
SynOB doesn't support custom models (or custom anything for that matter really).
You'll have to add it yourself like you would to a source game.

I really don't understand the need to take away all that work, and remove all the custom things. It's just like... hl2dm coop now. It needs more spice or people are very quickly going to get bored.

As I've said many, many, many times before: nothing was removed from Synergy OB, only added. We did Synergy OB from scratch.
And IMO, Synergy OB is 10x more fun than Synergy 1.1.

Don't get me wrong, Synergy OB is a lot funner than Synergy 1.1 and I know you guys are trying to give it more of a hl2 feel. Which is why I suggested adding Gordon as stock, I know it's a custom model but it would help the feel a lot. It should only be so one person can play as Gordon on a server. It just doesn't feel right with a bunch of rebels running around and no Gordon leading them.

Like Vosk said, nothing is removed from 1.1. Just because something isn't in right now, doesn't mean it might not get added in a future update. Right now I believe Vosk is focusing on crunching down all the bugs we couldn't find in beta testing, and that have reared its ugly head from public playing.
He's so busy he can't even test an offical map I'm working on with me D:

None of the models in the HQ are official.

I closed the HQ like 2 days ago.
I still have all the files. So if any one's worried about that chill out.
We'll see if the team decides to add custom model's ever again.
In my honest opinion. I'd agree with vosk when he say's "Not many people can model anyway it's simply more complex and to avoid confusion we'll leave it at this for now (SynOB)"
I still want the damn feature or nobody will ever learn to model
Some maps don't work for OB they have to be converted.
Back to the Syndocs as Vosk would say

If I ever were to add a Gordon model, I demand it look flawless. The ones I've seen so far, I can pick them to pieces with little things that bother me about them. They either look like ghosts, or they were severely beaten (with black/brown bags around the eyes).

I fully agree, I haven't seen one good Gordon Freeman model for source yet.

That's probably the best Gordon Freeman model I've seen, though, there could be a much better one out there.

I think the one Obsidian Conflict has looks pretty decent.
By the way, whats all that editing about....
Having more than one Gordon run around looks weird though, so a restriction to one model per game would be good. The first player claiming it would get it, and the others would be turned into rebels instead.

Map specific player models would be cool. Like a map with everyone spawning as a random combine playermodel. Specific playermodels are hidden and can't be used in maps using default playermodels.

I can understand that, I've seen some pretty good ones. The one OC is using right now is probably the best one out there. I plan on doing Gordon myself at some point, but it's going to be a big big project since I'm going to model him after the concept art exactly, and probably use a little bit of hugh laurie for the texture. My goal is to create a Gordon freeman model you could have sworn was made by Valve themselves, but again, it's going to take a long ass time. I haven't even started on pre production of it yet. Maybe someday I'll let you use it.
