Hey folks,
I'm pleased today to release Synergy SDK, a tool which helps you map for Synergy.
This tool automatically configures Source SDK so you can start mapping for Synergy, allows you to mount content in and out of hammer - and automatically generates the correct Synergy INC file every time you compile.
Using the Hammer Mounting system, you can be sure that you are creating a map that is compatible for the audience you're targeting.
Also included is an EDT wizard, and map manager. The tool supports automatic generation of ZIP files once you're finished mapping, including everything others need to get started - including BZIP2 packages for server admins.
Enjoy.

P.S. : Those who have already configured their Source SDK will not have their settings fiddled with, however, you should reset your game configurations using Source SDK before installing Synergy SDK to make the absolute most of the features provided (Automatic INC generation).

Took me a while to realize that your site does not work in Opera. Had to open it with Firefox to get something else than a white page
Anyway, thanks for making this tool. It really helps setting up Source SDK for Synergy.

Great program, really solved my problem.
Only problem i'm having with it now is, while i'm editing in Hammer (making a map for synergy), if I use "Run Map" is will load up Half Life 2, but then it will close itself.
So, basically i'm asking, how can I test my map while hammer is still open?
I don't have to close hammer, and dismount the games from synergy sdk, do I? If so, then that could get very annoying, very quickly.
Any help will be most welcome.

Just check the "don't run game when complete" button on the compile menu, and load up and play synergy yourself. No need to close hammer.
I know it's bad practice in many ways, but I end up just alt-tabbing between open copies of hammer and synergy when doin ga lot of my map work.

Synergy SDK is designed to test your levels on-the-fly without any hinderence or extra steps then normal.
This looks like a case though where you'd already manually configured to map for Synergy and then used Synergy SDK afterwards - this makes testing difficult. Synergy SDK will of notified you via a balloon at some point. To fix this:
(Close Synergy SDK if it is running)
Step one: launch Source SDK,
step two: double click "Reset Game Configurations" (your mod configuration settings will be lost)
step three: launch Synergy SDK
You should see this if installed correctly next time you start Source SDK:

When you run your map in hammer, you must make sure that "don't run game after compiling" is NOT checked
When your compile completes your synergy .INC file will be generated, and you will have the option to test your map into synergy with one-click. You can also send your map via ZIP to your friends in this way. You'll see this window:

Cheers,
-Lexxy.

Problem with your INC file then. Be sure to put the correct game tags in your INC file.
I assume you want EP2 content, so you would use the following, in "maps\MAPNAME.inc":

You should follow the instructions in my above post so this is fixed automatically.
You can also:
In Synergy SDK:
Mount Your Games,
Double Click Map Manager,
Click Your Map,
Click "Apply Includes".
Job done, your map will now work correctly.

Synergy SDK seems to have started making VRAD run twice.
Do I need to have synSDK running before running sourceSDK for it to work properly?

Everything is working great for me now. I'll admit i was a bit skeptical of the tools you released at first because I didn't really want this other program open and do the whole game mounting thing on and off but after my last reformat yesterday I got it again and now I realize that it really is helpful and now it all works like a charm. Thanks

I was seeing this too and thought it was a problem. However, it appears that VRAD running twice is mearly a result of the HDR lighting. You can find this information on Basic compiling of a HDR map in the Valve Developer Community wiki.

So download and install .net 2.0 x64 yourself... to be honest this should be installed already if your machine is even remotely up to date. Heck, I think it may even be part of the shipped Vista x64 installation...
I've followed the above instructions but Synergy isn't available in the current game box. Now what?
Well I just edited my gameinfo.txt file by hand. My guess is, this application doesn't know how to look in program files (x86)? It sure didn't modify my gameinfo.txt file to allow hammer to do what it needed.

Ok, so I install Synergy SDK, look at the Mount Content dialog, EP2 content is there.
I close Synergy SDK, do some tuts in regular Source SDK.
Next day, I run Synergy SDK, only the HL2 content is there.
I reinstall Synergy SDK, still only HL2 content.
I reset game configurations, restart Synergy SDK, still only HL2 content.
I'm running 32-bit Vista, so I doubt the OS is the problem.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
edit: Ok, when I run the installer and run the program straight from the installer, the GCFs are there.
If I close Synergy SDK, re-open it, all the GCFs are gone except HL2.
Edit: Ok, I fixed the problem. I had to Run the program as an Administrator for it to read the GCFs. Thanks so much for helping me!
