Hi
i have half-life 2 and all the episodes on steam but when i run "synergy dedicated server" it only shows "syn" map and ok i choose almost any of them but when i click "start" it gives me the following error:
"LevelInit() failed to load map syn_heat_wave, missing game: hl2"
and i do have those games and i also played all the games on synergy.
please help me!

If your hosting a server just to play with a friend, create the server from within Synergy itself -- unless if want to host a long-term server, then I strongly recommend to use Valve's Dedicated Server (HLDS).

Otherwise you need to edit the mount.cache file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\USERNAME\synergy dedicated server with a text editor to say hl2 ep1 ep2 (as long as you have them installed/updated and started at least once)

After the server is started (on any map), to go the console tab and type changelevel d1_trainstation_01 to start at the beginning of the Half-Life 2 Campaign.

lets say that i want to create the server from the "synergy dedicated server".
i went to the mount.cache and added the games but i still get the same error.

If you still get LevelInit() failed to load XXX, missing game: hl2 then you need to start up Half-Life 2 (or the respective game) to the main menu. A rule of thumb is to this for all Steam games you plan on mounting. Again mount.cache needs to say "hl2 ep1 ep2" without the quotes.
