Poor Instructions

While I appreciate the effort (and at the risk of sounding cynical) the documentation provided on this website is simply insufficient in explaining how to properly setup a dedicated server for Half-Life 2, Ep1 and Ep2 using the Synergy mod. Even with an extremely meticulous and thorough review of every document (for several hours), I was unsuccessful. I am not a computer or network novice, quite the contrary, and following basic and logical instructions has never been a problem for me. Thus, I can only conclude that the information lacks something integral to get this working. As a result, I will continue running a listen server and have to be content with that.

Even with the dedicated server issues I've encountered it is still a whole lot of fun to play Half-Life 2 cooperatively online! :)

I agree. The instructions should be clearer as there are gaps in there that the user is espected to fill with zero to none experience in running servers. Allthough it's fairly simple to run a dedicated server, I failed numerous times too due to lack of knowledge and overthinking many parts of the instructions. A step-by-step set of thorough instructions with clearly marked paths of what to put where.
Now if one searches the forums he's likely to find all the answers he might need...but then again..I didn't. It was easier to bother devs with questions...but I don't think they like it very much ;)
