No game configurations to run with empty game list in source sdk

First of all, hello Synergy Forums. I'm new here, so thats that.

Now to my Problem that bothers me for two days already.
After a fresh installation of the source sdk, I get an empty game list for all engines:

And with no game selected I can't start any of the tools.

What I've allready tried:
- started all related source games and loaded a map once
- reinstalled a couple of times (manually deleted local content and gcf file inbefore)
- refreshed sdk content
- reseted game configurations
- started with "-engine ep1" - found that somewhere while googling for my problem.
- started it through synergy sdk - thought it may does the trick with the gameconfigs for me, but it did not.
- manually created a gameinfo.cfg - leaded to a broken hammer with black viewports (MP and 2009 engine).

The last one I may did a little sloppy and thats why hammer is broken I guess. Would be handy if someone could provide me with a decent gameconfig. I would be able to get it going then I guess.
Any other suggestion, further questions are welcome too.

Rename your sourcesdk folder in X:\steamapps\USERNAME\sourcesdk to something different like sourcesdk OLD then start up Source SDK Launch from Steam, that should do the trick. Also just FYI, SE2007 does not have anything in its GameConfig.txt so use SE2009.

thx for your answer, unfortunately that didn't do it... my game list is still empty for all engines. :(

Hmm, odd. Well then I'm not sure whats causing it, probably something silly. Good news is you can just type up your own GameConfig.txt like you tried. I assume you wish to map for Synergy? If so, here is mine that is based off of ep2.

Source Engine 2009 GameConfig.txt Template (syn): GameConfig_SE2009.txt
Source Engine MP GameConfig.txt Template: GameConfig_mp.txt

Just copy the text and be sure to change USERNAME to yours and fix the directory structure if needed.

Exactly, some Ideas for a synergy map came into my mind while playing and I thought abbout to realize them by myself ;)
Your config works fine for me, thanks alot.
