my and my friends are getting this odd glitch, these massive purple boxes are drawing on top of peoples heads, how can i prevent this, also, if i minimize my game and re-open it, all the textures go haywire and turn purple, my friends don't get that glitch though, so far we can only stop this by stoping the hud from drawing, but then we have no huds....and thats not fixing the problem.

Type toggle_show_players into console to remove the player icons while keeping the rest of the hud.
For the "purple checkerboard textures", that is just cubemap reflections being weird from resuming from where it loses the paths to the respective cubemap image. A way to avoid this is to simply not minimize -- or play in windowed mode so it wont ever be "minimized" when you need to do stuff outside of the game.
