Well OK there is THAT con as I just noticed. I still think that the Desert Eagle (Can I just call it a deagle from CSS?) should have its own ammo yet its damage could be dimmed down a bit to about half its rating, so heres my guess in List Form
Desert Eagle
2 hits to kill a combine soldier (Hitting Torso)
Uses different ammo (Could be scattered around vanilla maps if possible, not sure about custom)
And maximum ammo would be (including whats in a clip) 48.
These are just weapon damage/ammo statistics I don't feel like listing the pros and cons again.
But frankly whith the accuracy con it should be enough to be a variance of the .357 magnum (Depending on the possibility of it having its own ammo)

Making the deagle a weapon in-between the regular pistol and .357 would actually make it more unique.
The reason I like the deagle right now is because it kills (maybe too) fast and at the correct range, which is sort of a bad reason to like it.

I'm still thinking the desert eagle is beyond too inaccurate.

In a sense it is realistic. It's basically the most powerful pistol out there (?) so it's not going to be as accurate as the pistol. Though theres already a weapon that can deal high damage that's inaccurrate. The shotgun. So the inaccuracy could be lowered a little bit.

Gamers are idiots when it comes to balancing weapons. They throw idiotic reasons to destroy a weapon's actual attributes. Hell, the standard Half-Life 2 USP has relatively bad accuracy for a pistol. The desert Eagle's accuracy in Synergy is like firing a musket or tornado kicking a football. It's modern times not 200 years ago. A 50 caliber like the Desert Eagle probably has an effective range of 200 yards. I just now looked it up and it reads, "200 meters"

You're also assuming the weapon is sighted on a target and clamped on a vice. Pistols are relatively inaccurate in practice, and even more so on the move. I would say the accuracy of the 357 desert eagle in Synergy is the equivalent of an inexperienced shooter in real life.

Also in Half-Life2, Gordan Freeman holds the pistol with one hand (According to the firstperson view model) so it won't be that accurate. Focusing more on the desert eagle (assuming its a .50 calibre) it will have a kick that will make it spray all over the place. I tried to play a deathmatch map on synergy with the desert eagle and I couldn't hit a thing! I burned through all that ammo trying to kill this one combine soldier. So 12 bullets is obviously not enough to sustain the desert eagles inaccuracy. And if it's aimed to be used up close whats the point? We already have the shotgun. The overall design is nice already it just needs working in the ammo department. (Maybe a bit in the recoil part as well.)
I know I sound redundant of how I keep saying "Oh! It needs it own ammo." but it kinda does.
So to sum it all up: Give it smg recoil (If it has that already then no need) and try to give it it's own ammo.

I do not understand why it was changed true sound Desert Eagle to a stranger.
In counter-strike source there is sound, why take a different sound?
What's this? Attempt to distinguish themselves from OC ?
Have different good, not bad.
Sorry mi engl.
p.s. Thanks for the introduction of this weapon in the game

I agree, I don't want to have any weapons that are just re-skins with slightly altered firing and accuracy, that's just boring.
I want to see things like perhaps some HL1 inspired weapons.
Also, co-op weapons, like mounted turrets that require a player to hold it and not be able to use any of their weapons, so they need to be defended; or perhaps a gun that requires two people to re-load it (cannon anyone?).
Obviously all these things should be limited to custom maps, I'd hate to see the campaign ruined by custom weapons.
If only I knew how to make weapons, then I could play around with some ideas.
