When you code do you prefer an IDE or a plain text editor? Which IDE do you use? Which editor? Do tell. I'm not looking for a flame war here and I don't actively search for development solutions myself, but I do like to hear others input when they're willing to share it. I found this little gem that they like to call Code::Blocks. Anyone with any experience with it care to share their war stories?

I'll use a text editor for interpreted languages and an IDE for compiled languages.
Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 SP1 is an excellent solution.

I don't use code blocks, but all the tutorials written for it have worked fine in Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Professional.
I use Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express, Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Professional, and notepad. I use notepad for anything other than C and C++.
For modding HL2, I've found that any of the Express versions of VC++ work fine. Code::Blocks should work just as good.

I like Notepad++ for simple stuff, and complex IDEs for complex stuff.
